Honour Specialist (Music)

The underlying purpose of the Honour Specialist (Music) Additional Qualification Course (AQ) is to develop the candidates’ capacity for curriculum leadership The course addresses contexts and theories underpinning the study of music, including pedagogy, curriculum, assessment and evaluation, and technology. Child and adolescent development are explored in relation to program planning and implementation.

Prerequisites

  • Be a member in good standing with the OCT
  • FOUR-year academic undergraduate degree (20 full courses excluding education courses)
  • NINE full courses in the subject of Music with a minimum B average ( excluding education courses)
  • Minimum TWO years certified teaching experience by the first day of the course, subsequent to certification including at least ONE year in Music

Documents Required

  • Signed Supervisory Officer's Form by course end date confirming teaching experience
  • Official transcript(s) sent directly to the Professional Learning Office from the granting institution before course start date
Session Dates
Start Date: Jul 04, 2022
End Date: Jul 29, 2022
July 4 - 29, 2022. Blended format: In-person from 8:30am to 4:30pm for the first 2 weeks, Monday to Thursday. July 4 - 7, 11 - 14. The remainder of this course will take place online. Expect to be online every weekday from July 15th to 29th. All coursework must be completed by August 31, 2022. All deadlines will be communicated by the instructor.
