The purpose of the Intermediate Basic (Health and Physical Education) Additional Qualification (ABQ) Course is to develop candidates’ skills and knowledge for design, delivery, and assessment of H&PE programs. This course focuses on the theory and practice underpinning H&PE through exploration of the underlying philosophy and its application for ensuring a healthy, active living education for young adolescents.

  • An acceptable post-secondary degree or equivalent qualifications

Session Dates
Start Date: May 13, 2025
End Date: Jun 20, 2025
Mandatory synchronous sessions: May 13 - June 20, 2025. Every Wednesday. Be available between 6:00 pm - 9:30 pm. Meeting times and duration of the sessions are set by the instructor. This 125 hour course consists of 100 hours of interactive coursework and 25 hours of independent learning. Regular and relevant candidate participation is a requirement. In addition to the synchronous sessions, expect to be online at least every second day to complete assignments and collaborate in discussion forums. All deadlines will be communicated by the Instructor.
