Principal's Qualification Program, Part 2 (Independent School Focus)

A new, recently accredited version of the PQP, offered through the Faculty of Education at York University, provides a specific Independent School Focus and is designed to prepare and support leadership candidates for the complexity of the most senior administrative roles in Independent Schools. This is the first Independent School focused PQP that has been accredited by the Ontario College of Teachers and it is modeled after York University’s acclaimed PQP program. Through providing an outstanding program for qualified individuals, the program will also assist with succession leadership planning for Ontario independent schools.

Prerequisites

Successful completion of either PQP-ISF Part 1 or PQP Part 1

Documents Required

• Proof of successful completion of the Practicum. In the case of those who took Part 1 at York we will have confirmation of completion of the practicum at York
• If PQP Part 1 does not yet appear on the Public Register, submit an appropriately completed and signed Conditional Admission to PQP Part 2 Course form. Please go to the OCT web site at www.oct.ca to obtain a form.

PLEASE NOTE: The Conditional Admission form can only be signed by the Faculty Registrar when the prerequisite course has been completed and results are available. OCT legislation prohibits us from accepting grade reports, letters of completion, etc., in lieu of the Conditional Admission form.
