This AQ has been designed to explore and answer questions that may be unique to new teachers. This course will meet the needs of teachers with limited classroom experience.

The Junior Additional Basic Qualification (ABQ) employs a critical, pedagogical lens to explore ethical perspectives, learner and learning theory, program planning, instructional design and assessment practices, and communities of learning related to teaching and learning in the Junior Division. Candidates will strengthen professional efficacy by reflecting on experience, developing in-depth knowledge, refining professional judgment and generating new possibilities for practice.

Prerequisites

  • An undergraduate degree acceptable to the Ontario College of Teachers
  • Be a member in good standing with the OCT by the end date of the course

End Date: Jun 30, 2022
Online: May 17, 2022 - June 30, 2022.

This 125 hour course consists of 100 hours of interactive coursework and 25 hours of independent learning. Regular and relevant candidate participation is a requirement. Expect to be online at least every second day to complete assignments and collaborate in discussion forums. All deadlines will be communicated by the Instructor.
