Open to new teachers graduating in June of this year. Dive into this AQ course with your peers and build knowledge and strategies from the instructor who is a K-12 classroom educator with years of experience and insight.

The Kindergarten, Part 1 Additional Qualification Course will engage you in an interactive, creative, and meaningful introductory course focused on topics such as, but not limited to, the image of the child; relationships and flow of the day; the learning environment, pedagogical documentation, and inquiry/play-based learning. It will also develop your knowledge and critical appreciation of emergent curriculum, self-regulation, early-childhood development theories/approaches, the four frames, integrated and inclusive learning, and assessment as, for, and of learning.

Throughout the course, you will have weekly opportunities to connect via chat discussions with your professional-learning community (PLC) as we explore theory and connect it to practice with hands-on challenges, interesting readings, knowledgeable guest speakers, inspiring (virtual) field trips, and practical assignments. Our weeks together will be an experience that supports your unique learning journey, one that will provide you with resources for ongoing exploration after the course ends.
