Practicum Information

The PQP Practicum, a required component of the PQP, is a collaborative inquiry, informed by the Ontario Leadership Framework for Principals and Vice-principals, and provides candidates a leadership opportunity working with students, staff, parents and the community. Candidates must develop a Practicum Proposal before being recommended for Part 1 and successfully complete the Practicum Project before being recommended for Part 2. At York, the Practicum Project is assessed, and feedback is provided by the same instructor that mentors the candidate through the development of the Practicum Proposal. This process allows for ongoing support and provides consistency. A completed Practicum Project is not a prerequisite for the Part 2 course.
